24 Oct 2009 - We are happy to announce that Top Expat Kids Swim School aquaDucks™ has Officially Endorsed The Original Konfidence Jacket™ into their learn to swim program as a Swimming / Training Aid (With Supervision). They have been doing tests with the Jacket for the past 12 months and seen tremendous benefits the Jacket brings in teaching their kids swimming and gaining confidence in the water. The Story of Konfidence Singapore - How It All Started In 2007…
Konfidence Singapore started in mid of 2007 just when our second child was almost 7 months old and we wanted to bring him swimming. Since his elder sister only went swimming about 3 years of age, we were a bit concern about him catching a cool and looked around to find a suitable swim wear hoping to keep him warm in the pool (if there was ever one :).
We were not able to find one that was suitable, and like most caring mums and dads would do, we started searching abroad. Lo and behold, we stumbled upon The Konfidence BabyWarma and instantly love the look and the cute designed swim wear. At that point, it was a bonus that it’s key benefit is to keep the baby warm in the water.
We found out that the specially designed BabyWarma features unique properties for babies in the water like soft 2mm Neoprene to keep-warm, special Lycra edging for a comfortable fit but more importantly Velcros top, bottom and side for an extremely easy fit and nappy change (if needed)! The other benefit of the Velcro is to keep the warma snug-fit to enable it to keep the baby warm by effectively trapping a layer of water.
We later discovered that it was a specially designed keep-warm swim wear by a top UK swimwear company that has been making babies and kids swim wear for that past 10 years. The swim gear that started the company was The Original Konfidence Jacket and was a hit in the UK. It was clear in our minds that we had to get the BabyWarma and at the time my daughter was starting to learn to swim, so we wanted to try the Jacket as well 
And the rest as they say is history…

The Brief History of Konfidence UK - How It Began While Holidaying In 1996…
Konfidence started back in 1996 while we were on holiday, when we discovered that each time when we were at the pool our kids just refused to put the armbands on. To the young kids it was bulky and uncomfortable. Their dad, Andrew Regan realised there and then he had to find a better way to get their kids to learn swimming - a life long skill. And that prompted the “budding entrepreneur” on a desperate search for a real alternative to armbands/water wings.
Life jackets were too bulky and traditional buoyancy aids were made of scratchy nylon. Out of this came the idea to construct a swim jacket made of soft wetsuit neoprene with 8 foam floats ‘hidden’ on the inside. The Adjustable Buoyancy Method would allow the wearer to become familiar with the water and develop their swimming technique. In time the buoyancy would be reduced leaving a confident and happy swimmer! In addition this personal floatation device would give parents confidence whilst their children were in the water. Very quickly and obviously we decided on the name ‘The Konfidence Jacket’.
18 months of investigation and R&D with Sola Wetsuits of Saltash, Cornwall resulted in our Original Konfidence Jacket. Subsequently The Konfidence Jacket was manufactured for us by Gul Wetsuits in Bodmin, Cornwall. The design, great materials and brilliant application came to the attention of Marks and Spencer, one of the best known department stores in the UK. In 2000 they placed their first order! Following this, many high street retailers now sell our swim jacket, Konfidence childrens wetsuits and our UV protection swim and beach wear in the UK, Europe and now all over the world.
The range of products has slowly but surely grown to include our adult and youth swim jacket (personal floatation from 8 years to 80!), kids, infant and childrens wetsuits, UV protection swimwear and clothing. The demand for innovative and essential children product continues.
We, like many companies, now manufacture in the Far East, allowing us to pass on the cost savings to our customers and our products which now represent excellent value for money whilst maintaining superb quality. Our factories are independently auditted to meet International Ethical Trading standards and we are working hard to reduce waste and excess packaging.
The Konfidence Jacket has been independently tested and approved as a buoyant aid to swimming to CE standard, the European equivalent of US Coast Guard Type V PFD and Australia/New Zealand AS/NZS 4399.
We are still a family owned business with three generations now involved. We are always very pleased to receive feedback, both positive and negative, which will allow us to continually improve our products and our service to our customers. All Konfidence products are inspired by our customers demand for good looking, practical, functional and affordable swimwear, beachwear and sun protection clothing.
Our fantastic baby swimming range has been developed in conjunction with Swimming Teachers from the UK and the USA to allow babies and their Mums and Dads to get the most from their time in the water! Everyone’s talking about the brilliant Konfidence BabyWarmas.
